Habakkuk’s final resolve: to rejoice amid tribulation.
Habakkuk 3:1-19
Habakkuk’s final resolve: to rejoice amid tribulation (3 v 17-18),
is rooted in faith in God and his grace (3 v 19),
which the Holy Spirit works in him by the ordinary means of grace: Revelation (3 v 3-16) and prayer (3 v 2)
In other words, if we make use of the ordinary means of grace and we prayerfully wrestle with God’s revelation, get to know the God of true justice and mercy personally, be confronted with his glory in JESUS, faith will grow inside of us and we will come to trust this God in such a way that these words of Habakkuk in v 17-18, becomes our own words!

In confusing times the righteous will stand firm by faith, and wait for God’s faithful promises, for God’s certain justice, and for God’s unending rule. Habakkuk 2:6-20

The righteous will live, not driven by empty pride, but by faith. Habakkuk 2:1-5
